The Obedience Training Committee is proud to present the results of the GSDCV Open Obedience Trial held at Eastern Branch on Sunday 9^th July. The trial attracted 134 entries from across the State to compete in an encouragement class, three novice classes, three open classes and three utility classes!

Open Obedience Trials are those trials where any dog registered with a State Kennel association may compete – so this means that not only German Shepherds may enter, but any other breed of dog (purebreed or not) so long as it complies with all other entry requirements. This sort of trial gives our club a chance to showcase our club to the VCA trialing fraternity!

The weather decided to be kind to us, despite a forecast of hail and rain, only sun graced the grounds at Eastern branch. The ground itself remained firm underfoot for a winter ground and far better than the fun day some 2 years ago!

Due to the efforts of all the judges, we were pleased that the trial finished by 3:30, allowing competitors to enjoy the remainder of the day reminiscing about their successes and their failures!

The Obedience Training Committee thanks all judges, stewards and other helpers for making this open trial such an outstanding success. We also thank Eastern Branch for hosting the trial and assisting with ring set up and pull down.
