Australian & New Zealand Police Dog Trial 2001The Queensland Police Service Dog Squad will be hosting this years’ Australian & New Zealand Police Dog Trials. The event will be run as part of the 9th Australian and New Zealand Police Games, which is being held on the Gold Coast between 10 November 2001 until 17 November 2001. The
Police Dog Trials is open to serving Police Officers and their Police Dogs ONLY.
The New Zealand Police, as well as State and Territory Police Services from
across Australia are invited to send their two best teams to compete in a
competition divided into the following five areas; Tracking Although the Police Dog Trials are normally closed to members of the public, the Queensland Police Service have announced that members of the general public are welcome to attend the Runaway Bay Leagues Club, Morala Avenue (near I/S of Lae Drive), Runaway Bay (UBD Map 19 A7) on Wednesday 14 November 2001. This day of competition will be open to the General Public and proceedings should start at 9.00am with Agility followed by Obedience then Criminal work. Members of the public wishing to attend this event are advised that they should leave their pet dogs at home and make sure that young children are adequately supervised during the event. Entry is free. The GSDCV would like to wish the Victoria Police Dog Squad Members competing in the Trials all the best. The two teams representing our state are;
German Shepherd Dogs are once again expected to dominate the overall competition. A must for all persons interested in German Shepherds or the ability of dogs to serve our community, the Police Dog Trials are a must see event.
