2000 Demonstration Team Competition – Australia’s Finest Obedience DogsBy Alex Dordevic, Assistant Obedience Training Administrator, GSDCV Australia’s finest obedience demonstration teams lined up for a "David and Goliath’ battle at the German Shepherd Dog Club of Victoria (GSDCV) State Breed Exhibition and Restricted Obedience Trial at Lyndhurst in Victoria, Australia on 21 May 2000. In what has become an annual event, each of the nine obedience branches of the GSDCV are invited to field an obedience demonstration team for the competition that is judged in front of an observing crowd. Northern Branch won the inaugural demonstration team competition in 1999, however the winners for 2000 were the Eastern Branch, pictured below, who wowed the crowd and the judges with an

The GSDCV Obedience Training Committee thanks the three teams that took part and especially the judges, Mr Andrew Saliba, Mr Robert Burton of the Victoria Police Dog Squad, and Mrs Val Bonney, our guest obedience judge from Queensland for the restricted trial.
